Introduction to the Perfectionism-Procrastination Cycle

This training is here to help you stop the vicious perfectionism-procrastination cycle so you can get on with what you need to do.

You probably picked up this ebook and video tutorial because, like so many of us, you struggle with putting things off due to a desire to make things perfect. This truly is a common issue. Know that you’re not alone in this battle.

Perfectionism seems like a good thing, doesn’t it? Taking pride in your work and wanting to do a good job seems like something to strive for. However, perfectionism goes beyond simply a desire to do your best. It puts pressure on you to achieve a standard that is not attainable, and this can be quite damaging.

One way the need to be perfect plays out badly for many of us is through procrastination. Trying to make sure everything is perfect is just exhausting. Instead of pushing you to do great things, it can actually have the opposite effect. It can stop you in your tracks and keep you from making any progress at all.

What Does Productivity Have to Do with Happiness?

There’s a link between productivity and happiness. However, the connection may not always seem to be a positive one. In order to be happy, you may think you need to be less productive and work fewer hours. And when considering what it means to have increased productivity, you may envision yourself tirelessly devoting all your time to work. So how could you possibly be happy?

The truth is, these views aren’t entirely accurate. Productivity can lead to happiness. It’s not a zero-sum game. You don’t have to choose one or the other. You can have both.

Let’s look at the ways that productivity can increase your overall sense of wellbeing.

  • Sense of Pride
  • Perception of Contribution
  • Increased Confidence
  • Feeling of Purpose

These are just some of the ways that productivity can increase your happiness. The two really do go hand in hand.
